Our handmade books combine traditional binding techniques with contemporary materials and technology. We honour classic methods refined over time for their quality and durability while using modern materials and tools to expand our creative possibilities. We mainly work with ecological papers, including recycled and alternative fibres, alongside digital printing and laser engraving. Bringing old and new together lets us create unique, functional books that unite the beauty of craftsmanship with the precision of modern technology.
About the technique
Case Binding
Also known as hardcover binding, this classic method creates durable books and became popular as a sturdy, elegant alternative to paperback or softcover binding.
In case binding, the book block is sewn and glued into a rigid outer structure made from board or a similar material. It protects the pages and provides an ideal surface for decoration, usually covered with cloth, decorative paper, leather or another hard-wearing material.
Every journal made in the workshop is sewn and glued by hand. The result is a strong book that reflects careful attention and skilled craftsmanship at every stage.
Wrap-around journals
Journals
A journal can be a personal notebook, travel diary, record of creative projects or simply a notes book to keep track of your everyday life. Our handmade journals offer a blank canvas on which to document your own story.
They are usually made with a soft leather cover, though hardcover journals are also available at the atelier.

With its distinctive exposed stitching, Japanese binding offers an elegant, durable alternative to Western methods. Techniques refined over centuries create books that are both practical and beautiful, known for their simplicity, flexibility and decorative stitches.
